We all are partial to the quarterback from our teams, me included, but most of the time they aren’t actually the best and we know it. But if you are lucky you are right, *cough* Tom Brady, but we will get into that.
These QB’s really were the staple points of their teams, with all the stats to back them up, and their careers sticking out when you think of best QBs of NFL history.
7. Dan Marino
Marino holds 31 Miami Dolphin team records, he made the Pro Bowl nine times , and maybe should have made it two or three more times. But perhaps the most incredible number of his career is, in seventeen years with the Miami Dolphins where he had only one losing season.
Some Standings:
-Been to 1 Super Bowl but lost
-1 MVP award
-61,361 passing yards
-87 rushing yards
-420 touchdown pass
6. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers is one of the most aggressive QBs in the NFL, but he's also one of the most efficient. He is also not afraid to throw a hail mary pass that somehow almost always gets caught.
Some Standings:
-Been to 1 Super Bowl and won
-2 MVP awards
-48,603 passing yards as of right now
-3,167 rushing yards so far
-381 touchdown passes
5. Drew Brees
With Brees adding more records to his career as time goes on he never fails to impress but he has some work to do before he comes close to touching records like Brady’s.
Some Standings:
-Been to 1 Super Bowl and won
-1 Super Bowl MVP award
-79,034 passing yards as of right now
-754 rushing yards so far
-558 touchdown passes
4. Johnny Unitas
Unitas led the league four times each in passing yards and in touchdown passes and retired with career NFL records for passing yards, touchdowns, and completions (all of which have since been broken).
Some Standings:
-Been to 3 Super Bowls and won 1 of them.
-3 MVP awards and 10 Pro Bowl and five first-team All-Pro honors
-40,239 passing yards
-1,777 rushing yards
-102 touchdown passes
3. Peyton Manning
With his superior field vision, patient processing of progressions, quick setup, release and rare accuracy, Manning was definitely one of the best of his time to say the least.
Some Standings:
-Been to 4 Super Bowls and won 2 of them
-1 Super Bowl MVP award
-71,940 passing yards
-1,953 rushing yards
-539 touchdown passes
2. Joe Montana
While a member of the 49ers, Montana started and won four Super Bowls and was the first player ever to have been named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player three times. He also holds Super Bowl career records for most passes without an interception (122 in four games) and the all-time highest passer rating of 127.8.
Some Standings:
-Been to 4 Super Bowls and won all 4
-3 Super Bowl MVP awards
-40,551 passing yards
-1,676 rushing yards
-273 touchdown passes
1. Tom Brady
Brady's combination of Super Bowl wins and QB records is impressive, but his competitive spirit is what makes him #1. He never fails to keep his team in the game and has that can do/never give up kind of mentality.
Some Standings:
-Been to 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them
-3 NFL MVP awards and 4 Super Bowl MVP awards
-76,112 passing yards so far
-1,000 rushing yards so far
-559 touchdown passes
