The Seven Best Current MLB Players in All Positions

These are most definitely the best current baseball players in the league. These players have dedicated their life to become one of the best and most are most likely going to be hall of famers.

I will be choosing my top player wisely strictly based on the stats. Meaning awards they have gotten, batting average, fielding percentage, home runs, rbi’s, ect.

Honorable Mentions

Pitcher: Justin Verlander

There is no doubt that Justin Verlander is the best current pitchers. Yes, there are some pretty close ones but, he has them by a little bit. Although he is getting older and just got injured he still had a very good and successful career. He is an 8 time All star with 2 cy youngs, 1 player of the year, 1 MVP, ALCS MVP, and an ERA title. Just these are amazing by them self. But no, Justin has even more awards including winning rookie of the year in 2006 which wasn't so surprising since he was drafted 2nd in the 2004 draft. He had great potential and showed it off. He also has a bogus championship ring but most impressive is his Triple Crown Award. He really worked for that and definitely deserved it. Now you have to agree with me that he is going to the Hall of Fame and personally I can't wait to see him go there.

Catcher: Yadier Molina

Yadi is not a surprise on this list because well he is Yadi. He is for sure the best catcher that still plays. He has an outstanding amount of gold gloves. He has 9 gold glove awards and along with those he also has 4 platinum glove awards. He is the best defensive catcher. He is getting older and has played for 16 years but, still throws so many people out. He was drafted in the 2000 draft in the 4th round. He really got overlooked and didn't make his debut until 2004. 4 years later that is a while from getting drafted. Anyways Yadi also has a silver slugger award. Although he is not much of a power hitter he is still a decent player but better known for his glove. Not to mention he has 2 rings. Those are very memorable for him. Right now I am undecided with him going to the Hall of Fame. I think that he is really good but, his batting isn't so good so I don;t know if he will or not yet.

First Base: Albert Pujols

Is this even a surprise? Not to me at all. Yeah he is gonna be 40 super old for MLB players. But, no doubt he is going to the Hall of Fame. His career stats prove it. I mean he definitely deserves this spot. Albert is a straight power house he has hit 662 home runs in his career which puts him 5th on the all time home run leaders. He just passed Willie Mays this year. Plus ALbert Pujols has won 19 awards in total throughout his career. He has won 3 MVPs, 2 Gold Gloves, 1 Batting Title, 6 Silver Sluggers, 3 Player of the Year, 1 NLCS MVP, and he won Rookie of the Year. Not to mention he has also been in 10 All Star games in his career. He is definitely one of the best in the game.

Second Base: Robinson Cano

This may come as a surprise to some people. Robinson Cano is definitely not as good as Albert Pujols but, Cano is the best Second Baseman in the league right now and here's why. In 15 years Cano has hit 334 home runs. Yes compared to the home run leaders that is nothing. But, he is actually 108th on the list and almost in the top 100 for home runs. That is not so bad. One of Cano’s more compelling facts is that he has averaged 303 Batting Average over 15 years. That is really impressive and definitely hall of fame worthy. He doesn’t quite have as many awards as Pujols but he does have 8. He has 5 silver sluggers, 2 gold gloves, and an All Star MVP Award. Plus, he has 8 appearances in the All Star game. He won his only World Series with the Yanks in 2009. This is why Cano deserves to be on this list.

Third Base: Nolan Arenado

Nolan Arenado has only been in the league for 7 years and he is only 29 yet he has accomplished so much in his career so far. He is a 5 time All star and has won 7 Gold Gloves. That is crazy. That means that he has won the Gold Glove every single year that he has been in the majors. We all know how good of a hitter he is. I mean he is hitting .293 for his whole career just under .300. Nolan has it all. He is one of the best fielders and he hits for power and contact. Along with those gold gloves he has also won 3 platinum gloves. He also has 5 silver slugger awards. He has only played for a short time and has already won 14 awards. He is well on his way to the hall of fame.

Short Stop: Francisco Lindor

Francisco Lindor is definitely one of the youngest guys on this list. But, he is on for a good reason. He has only been playing for 5 years and he is 26 years old. In that time he has made it to 4 All Star games which, is not a surprise. We have seen since he started that he had potential to be one of the greats. He has proved that he is a great hitter and just as trustworthy as a fielder. He has won 2 silver slugger awards already and is coming up on 1,000 hits. He is batting .285 in his career so far which is really good and Hall of Fame potential. He has also proven himself on the field winning 2 Gold Gloves and 1 platinum Glove. Francisco is an all around player and a great teammate. He is also going to be a Free Agent so it will be interesting so we wear the future hall of famer goes.

Left Field: Ryan Braun

This shouldn’t be a surprise because Ryan Braun is definitely the best left fielder. Alex Gordon is right behind him. They were both in the same rookie class and were drafted in 2005. Alex Gordon was number 2 and Ryan Braun was number 5. It’s funny because Ryan Braun ended up winning rookie of the year and for a good reason. Since then he has won an MVP award and 5 Silver Slugger awards. He has also made 6 appearances in the All Star game. He is getting older now but still proves that he has still got it. He has hit .296 batting average his whole career and has hit 352 home runs. He is definitely going to the Hall of Fame. If he does not then that is a big problem.

Right Field: George Springer

George Springer has only played for 6 years but has proven himself to be an All star and a great asset for his team. Yes, he is on a horrible team full of cheaters but, he is still a good player regardless. He is a 3 time all star with 2 silver sluggers and a world series MVP under his belt. Although the Astros didn’t deserve to have that win Springer still was amazing during the playoffs. George Springer so far has been a great lead off hitting for a lot of power. He already has almost 200 home runs in just 6 years. Although his career batting average is just .270 that is his only downfall. But if he keeps going at his pace he has great potential for the hall of fame.

Center Field: Mike Trout

Do I even have to explain this. He is the best in baseball as we all know. He has only been playing for 9 years. He just turned 29 and still has a lot left in the tank. The 8 time All Star has 7 silver sluggers, 2 All Star MVPs, player of the year, and a defensive player of the year award. All of these awards are incredible but he also has 3 MVPs. He is insane only 9 years and already has 3 MVPs. Not to mention he also won rookie of the year in 2011. His story is unique. He was drafted to the Anaheim Angels in the 2009 draft in the 1st round 25th pick. He was one of the last picks in his draft class and is now the best player in the MLB. There is no question that he is going to the Hall of Fame.
