2019-20 Preview: Nokomis Girls Varsity Basketball

Updated: Dec 10, 2019

Coming off a losing season is hard, but coming off a losing season consisting of a record of 2-16 is much worst. This upcoming season, this program is looking to turn itself around. Between the upperclassman and the couple standout freshman, Nokomis Girls team is ready to do what it takes to make that tournament run everyone has been hoping for.

Returning most of last year's starters and 6th and 7th man, the Nokomis girls team will be looking for upperclassmen Junior guard Maya Cooney, Senior forward Cassidie Newhall, Junior Forward Alexys Mayhew and Junior guard Amanda King to play a huge role in this year's success.

As mentioned in the boys preview, that team is a young squad looking for freshman to help them make their run -- for the girls, they're looking for the same thing. Standout Freshman guards Brianna Townsend and Camryn King will significantly play huge roles either in the starting lineup or off the bench, depending on the matchup and what coach Michelle Paradis wants to do on that day.

The Girls will open up their season on Friday, December 6th at Home. Game Time is @ 6:30 and will be played in the team's new home across the street in the new Nokomis gym.
