Nokomis Boys Basketball Preview

The start of High School basketball has rolled around and the Nokomis Boys are shifting gears from a slow previous season.

Coach Ryan Martin and his Warriors have high hopes for this coming season. Last season, it was a disappointing finish. In Class A North, Warriors finished 1-17. The boys have a couple veterans. Guard Keith Lilly, and Guard Cody Marquis who have led their team with a young core behind them. Sophomore Jakob Noyes stepped up last season as a freshman as starting point guard. Sophomore Hunter Flagg has also stepped up tremendously in the paint. Warriors have had two starters out for the season due to injuries. Senior Guard Jayden Brooks, and Senior Center Andy Hopkins.

Key newcomers include three guards, Connor Marquis, Madden White and Grady Hartsgrove. Each player will contribute on the floor in different ways to hopefully lift Nokomis from a previous 1-17 record. The season opener for Nokomis Basketball is December 6th at Brewer.
