The Devastating Injury of the Legend Cam Neely

The moment that changed everything for Cam Neely was when he sustained a serious knee injury during a check against the Penguins in the 1991 conference finals. You could consider him being one of the best in his time. He was fast, skilled and an overall great athlete. While in his 13th season of the Boston Bruins during game 3 of the conference Finals, Neely sustained a serious Knee injury which caused him his whole career. Below is the true story of how Cam Neely lost his career in the NHL.

Cam Neely was an overall great player and was always there to have his team's back.

With almost 6 season in for the Boston Bruins Neely was considered an all-star. With close to 230 goals in his time with the Bruins he was going strong.

Neely started playing for the Bruins when he was 21 which was definitely his prime in the league.

Then this happened. During Game 3 of the Conference finals the Boston Bruins were playing against the Pittsburgh Penguins and something happened that changed Cam Neely's life forever. During a check he was hit hard and fell to the ice and found out later that he had sustained a serious knee injury.

Here is a photo of Neely recovering from the injury. It was going to be a long process but he was determined to get back on the ice.

Although he was injured he tried his hardest to still be there for this team. Once he was healed he played for a few more seasons but he was never the same and eventually left the team as a player.

He eventually became the president of the Boston Bruins and had a family.

He is still the president of the Boston Bruins to this day. He remains a hard working and determined president and tries to keep the Bruins going.

Many people may wonder why he just doesn't retire and relax but there is one simple answer. He absolutely loves being the president of the Bruins because it still gives him the chance to see the ice and see his team play and succeed.

He has no plans of leaving the team and continues to keep pushing the Boston Bruins forward. Even though he won't be able to play, he will be there in his sky box cheering his favorite team on.
